The Ethnographic Society of Slovakia, in cooperation with the Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic as a co-investigator of the international project EODOPEN, co-financed by the European Commission as part of the Creative Europe program, digitized its digitally unavailable publications from the 20th and 21st centuries in 2022 with the aim of making them available to everyone user.
The digitalized publications of CVTI SR are gradually being made available under the name E-library of the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia.
The corpus of publications of the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia consists of almost 50 volumes of the non-selling specialist magazine Národopisné informácie, later published under the name Ethnologické razpravy, co-published by, or the publisher was the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia until 2021. Since then, we have been publishing the periodical Ethnologické rozpravy / Ethnological Debates as an electronic scientific open access journal. Other titles are brochures – instructions for ethnographic research published since the 1960s, anthologies and monographic publications.
Due to its thematic focus, the corpus of publications of the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia represents a remarkable collection of expert knowledge of ethnography/ethnology/anthropology and an important part of the spiritual cultural heritage of Slovakia. We believe that making it available is beneficial for our scientific department and members of our scientific society, but it also represents an attractive source of information that can be used in the pedagogical process, during study and scientific learning by experts, and a source for a wide range of interested people from the public.
At the meeting of its Committee on 23 October 2023, the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia decided to make digitized publications, which are already available on the CVTI SR website and the number of which will gradually increase, freely available.
